How to find the right turbocharger?
Before you call us, it is worth preparing the number of the turbocharger first. This will make it easier to determine the availability and price of the turbine.
Where can you find that number?
Usually it is engraved on the plate or simply stamped on the housing of your turbocharger.
You can find there:
OEM number - the number given by the engine manufacturer,
S / N part number - the number given by the manufacturer of the turbocharger,
Serial no. serial number - this is the unique number of each turbocharger, the so-called pesel,
type - type designation of the turbocharger.
GARRETT
In the case of turbines of this manufacturer, the number from the bottom of the plate should be given. Usually it starts with 7, 8 or 4. This is the 6 characters preceding the hyphen, after which the numbers are no longer significant.
Examples of such turbine numbers are:
725364-9022S -> 725364-5022S -> 725364-5021S -> 725364-5018S -> 725364-5012S- still the same number, for example for BMW 530 d 218KM
454083-0001 -> 454083-0002 - Volkswagen Polo III 1.9 TDI 90HP
819976-5021S -> 819976-5016S -> 819976-5014S -> 819976-5012S -> 819976-0012 -> 819976-0010 -> 819976-0007- BMW 120 d 190KM
BORG WARNER (KKK)
In the case of turbines of this manufacturer, the number from the bottom of the plate should be given. Usually it has 11 numbers and starts with: 5303, 5435, BV, KP and K.
Examples of such turbine numbers are:
5439 998 0070 -> 5439 970 0070 -> BV39-070 - this is the same turbocharger that fits e.g. Renault Clio III 1.5 dCi 106KM
5303 988 0057 -> 5303 970 0057 -> K03-057- it is the same turbocharger that fits e.g. Peugeot 206 2.0 HDi 109KM
5303 988 0029 -> 5303 970 0029 -> K03-029 - this is the same turbocharger, for example, fits Audi A4 1.8T 150KM
IHI
IHI has specific numbers that should be found on the plate. These are e.g. VJ32, VJ44, VV14, VICF. We are looking for the IHI symbol on the shell.
MITSUBISHI
In the case of Mitsubishi turbochargers, the important number is the one starting with 4. In this case, we are looking for a 10-digit number separated by a dash in the middle. e.g. 49377-07000, 49131-06006, 49377-07404
